Martin Salter - working hard for Reading West

Salter Jumps 10,000 feet for Charity

On 20th September, Reading West MP Martin Salter will be taking part in a “Tandem Skydive” from an aircraft flying at 10,000 feet above Salisbury Plain to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.

Mr Salter will freefall without a parachute for several thousand feet before the canopy opens at about a mile high. Mr Salter has already secured sponsorship from Reading residents and from a number of his fellow MPs. He is asking the public to support the Alzheimer’s Society by going to his website www.martinsalter.com and making an online pledge, or by going to www.justgiving.com/MartinSalterMP. For those without online access cheques can be sent straight to Mr Salter’s constituency office at 413 Oxford Road, Reading and made payable to the Alzheimer’s Society.

Mr Salter said:-

“This is an amazing opportunity to raise money for a charity that provides invaluable support for people with dementia and those who care for them. I am delighted that so many people have pledged sponsorship and I am looking forward to the jump almost as much as I am landing safely!”

Ama Guron - Community Fundraiser Central West at the Alzheimer’s Society said:-

“We are thrilled that Martin Salter has chosen to support the Alzheimer’s Society through a parachute jump, to help mark World Alzheimer’s Day. His support in raising awareness and funds will ensure that our vision of a radically improved world for people with dementia, a world were ultimately dementia can be defeated can come one step and a jump closer.”
