Salter Set for Summer Fair
Martin Salter, Labour MP for Reading West, will be at Battle Primary School this Saturday 4th July to raise the flag on their new internationally themed summer extravaganza. The event, running from 11am - 2pm, will celebrate the vast diversity that the school celebrates with students from a range of 42 countries!
The day is set to be adventure and fun-filled with activities ranging from hula hoop competitions to Bollywood dancers and with the unavoidable summer barbecue to entice well-wishers down to the festivities.
Martin Salter said:-
“It looks set to be a scorcher with competitions to entertain the kids and entertainment for the whole family. I think it’s great that the school is celebrating its diversity and I really hope that the local community comes out and shows their support for the school”.
Parent Governor Sarah Gillbe said:-
“Martin has always had a reputation for being willing to engage with community projects and is the ideal person to open our fair. It is very important to the school to have local community involvement and friends and colleagues of parents as well as many local businesses have contributed to the event. We are hoping to draw some attention to the improvements that have been made to the school in recent months and raise enough money to buy new IT equipment and fund curriculum-related after school clubs, which we believe will be a great aid in encouraging children with their learning.”
